2012 Dawson Creek Garden Tour – 2 of 8 : )

Anyone who is following these posts with the Dawson Creek & District Horticultural Society’s handy map and pamphlet in hand will quickly see we didn’t visit the gardens in order!

Next up (for us) were the extensive gardens of Karen Wetherhill. A resident of a local trailer park, Karen puts to bed any misconceptions about there not being enough space for a wildly productive and attractive garden on rental pads. She has made creative use of fences, containers, flower beds and tends a huge vegetable garden in the back. The results of her committment and incredible green thumb skills were inspiring to say the least.

Prepare to be impressed…

2012 Dawson Creek Garden Tour – 1 of 8 : )

The Dawson Creek & District Horticultural Society held their annual Garden Tour & Tea on Sunday July 29, 2012 and as always it was spectacular. Thank you to the organizers and, of course, the gardeners who flung open their gates to let us peek, sniff and dream!

The first garden we stopped at was the picturesque home of Heidi and Charles Kux-Kardos. I have long admired the colorful flowers that weave their way in and out of the perfect picket fence that surrounds their property, so it was great to get a chance to see inside.
